Saturday, May 17
& Sunday, May 18
You are invited to
celebrate Queen Victoria's Birthday in the Allegheny West Historic
District.
The celebration will
include English High
Tea as the Queen herself would have enjoyed and a presentation
entitled How to Create an English Garden. Both the tea
and presentation will take place in restored Victorian homes
in the neighborhood. The tea and garden presentation afford a
rare opportunity to glimpse a by-gone era and experience the
lifestyle of Queen Victoria on the commemoration of her 189th
birthday.
You will meet at 2:30pm for the presentation, How to Create
an English Garden by garden designer and English garden enthusiast
Carol
Churnega and then will proceed to a restored neighborhood
home for a traditional English High Tea prepared by well known
caterer Linda Iannotta . The Queen herself might make an appearance.
Allegheny West, a federal, state and city historic district,
is located on Pittsburgh's North Side, just west of the Aviary
and The Allegheny Commons, and north of the stadiums.
